Do you ever wonder what it takes to be a comedian? Wondering how to come up with comedy material? Want to increase your confidence?

If yes, the beginners comedy writing workshops are for you. We will help you tap into your creativity, get inspiration and learn what makes a good joke. Our aim is to help you become a confident writer and start thinking creatively while having fun doing it.

Workshop takes place at the Caroline of Brunswick, Brighton on Saturday 21 April from 12-5pm.

The workshop is run by Jane Postlethwaite who is a Cumbrian character comedian and writer.

She runs a successful comedy book night called Bad Book Project at the Blue Man in Brighton and a couple of comedy podcasts. She is a Funny Women Awards Finalist and Brighton Comedy Festival Squawker Award Finalist 2015.

My solo character show was ‘Made in Cumbria’ was nominated for two Brighton Fringe awards of the Latest Comedy Award and for the Audience Choice Award.

‘Made in Cumbria’ debuted as her first ever Edinburgh Fringe in August 2016 with Sweet Venues. The show had sold out days and received great 4 & 5 star reviews. Her new character show is called, ‘The House.’

She also recently had a lovely comedy part in a BBC Radio 4 play called, ‘Almost like being in love’.
