Personal but not overbearing, Sinha lets you in enough to see what makes him tick but never where he’s going next, a skill that makes every punchline feel fresh.” – The Skinny

HOW TO BE A PSYCHIC CONMAN
with Ash Pryce

Roll up! Roll up! Roll up! Gather ye round the traveling caravan, as Snake Oil Salesman Ash Pryce demonstrates the miraculous curative abilities of psychic surgery, taught to your humble trickster by a wise man in the Philippines (or a magicians tool book, whichever sounds more wondrous). See with amazement the telekinetic forces at work as you learn how to move objects with your mind, psychically manipulate your finest silverware and read the minds of your peers. Or maybe, it’s all just a trick?

The show will involve demonstrations and explanations of telekinesis tricks, metal bending, psychic surgery and remote viewing as well as look at government funded research into psychic phenomena, and the shoddy protocols that allowed “psychics” to beat the legendary Zener card experiments in the 1930s.

And if that wasn’t enough, interspersed throughout the show will be numerous on stage demonstrations of mentalism to add an extra layer of entertainment to the proceedings.

Stagetime Promotions Magician of the Year 2017, and Edinburgh Horror Festival Sell out performer 2016 and 2017, Ash Pryce brings his crowd pleasing mix of paranormal illusions, comedy and entertainment to the UK as part of a summer tour of 2018. Described as “ a naturally funny guy [who] won’t allow his audience to be bored” (edfringereview.com) and “A great showman” (NottinghamLive), Ash presents a mix of entertainment, scepticism and magical treats.

Find Ash on most social media as “Psychic Conman” and check out his website at www.psychicconman.co.uk

Warning to those on the front row… there will be blood!

Jun 29 @ 7:30pm – 9:15pm

TONY LAW + DARREN HARRIOTT
Jul 3 @ 7:30pm – 10:30pm

A double-bill of Edinburgh comedy previews, from former Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Tony Law and last year’s Best Newcomer nominee Darren Harriott.

“If you miss The Mighty Boosh or early Vic and Bob you will love paddling in Law’s stream of consciousness. As for making sense of his lunacy he offers a workable critique of his style: ‘he mooches around a bit and we fill in the blanks.’ Watching someone mooch around has never been such fun.” – Evening Standard

“It’s not often you get a debutant comedian who’s as ready for TV as Darren Harriott is. His slick, extroverted style would translate well on to the gogglebox. He’s got a charm and cheekiness about him that wins over audiences with ease. What marks him out is that he’s a very mainstream act who talks about some very un-mainstream, dark aspects of his life, and he does an impressive job of squaring this circle. This is a classic example of a comic who won’t be playing rooms this size for much longer” – Chortle

Wednesday 4th July

July 4th – Independence Day! Come celebrate the US day of Independence, with BCOM!

We are BCOM! Our uniquely themed, interactive, monthly comedy open mic nights in Brighton are different from any other show you will see or be a part of! We always have some of the best new, upcoming and established acts performing with us, as well as international acts from around the globe!

This month will have that BIG APPLE flavour, as we go all out in celebrating all things American!

FAKE NEWS! FAKE CHEESE! FAKE NOSES!

BANNERS! FLAGS! BUNTING! FIREWORKS (maybe)!

We’ll have eight 5-min performances of some of the best new comedy on the circuit, followed by a stellar headline act!

Order of acts will be determined by our RANDOM AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION GENERATOR GAME! And this month, we’re bringing back the great American tradition of BEER PONG!

As well as this, we’ll have a fantastic American headline act in Mike Capozzola!

—————————————————————————

Mike is a London based American comedian & published cartoonist (Prospect, Private Eye, MAD Magazine, Ted Talks, WIRED, Best of McSweeney’s).

Mike will be doing an extract from his show “EVIL CYBORG SEA MONSTERS,” – a multimedia/stand up comedy show about superheroes, sci-fi and monsters!

If you’re a fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, James Bond, Batman, Spiderman, Game of Thrones and time travel: teleport, fly, or beam down to this show!

This stuff is celebrated and dissected by a pro. Mike’s done the show at various theatres, comic cons, museums, comedy clubs & comedy festivals in the U.S. and the U.K!

—————————————————————————

Also appearing on this show:

Jem Braithwaite

All compered horrendously by our very own disappointment, BCOM’s resident MC Ant McEwan!

You won’t want to miss this one! So join us for all this madness, and more, this July 4th!
